  • Makhana: 2 cups
  • Peanuts – 1 cup
  • Boiled and mashed potatoes —half cup

  • ½ cup onions finely chopped
  • De-seeded tomatoes, finely chopped – ¼ cup
  • Chopped coriander leaves—one tablespoon
  • Green Chillies, finely chopped 1 tsp
  • Mandarins in natural juice – 1 he
  • Chat masala 1 tsp
  • Grounded cumin powder-1 tsp
  • An ounce of black salt
  • Tamarind chutney- 1 tbsp
  • Date chutney – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Method of preparation:

On medium flame, heat a pan and add oil; fry the fox nuts. Fry them and keep them aside similarly.

Now add into a mixing bowl the baked makhana, peanuts, 2 boiled potatoes, and boiled chickpeas along with the chopped onions, green chilies, coriander leaves, and tomatoes. Finish by adding a squeeze of lemon juice, tamarind chutney or date chutney, chaat masala, cumin powder, kala namak, and mix well.

Mix them well, taste the mixture, and if the combo of all the things needed garnishing is made just as required, serve it at once.
